Rental Rules, Safety & Disclaimer

Please read these rules, conditions, safety guidelines, and disclaimers carefully before renting any equipment from Kama'aina Movers. By renting our equipment, you agree to these terms.

Important: All equipment is rented "as is." The renter assumes full responsibility for the safe use, care, and return of the equipment. Call (808) 275-7155 with any questions before your rental begins.

Rental Rules & Conditions

1. Rental Period

  • Rentals are charged on a per-day basis. A "day" is a 24-hour period from pickup or delivery.
  • Late returns will be charged an additional day's rental fee.
  • Weekly and multi-day discounts may be available — ask when booking.

2. Reservation & Payment

  • A valid government-issued photo ID is required at pickup.
  • A refundable security deposit may be required for high-value equipment.
  • Payment is due at the time of pickup or delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3. Equipment Use

  • Equipment must be used only for its intended purpose.
  • Do not exceed the stated load capacity (e.g., 3000 lbs for drywall carts, 1000 lbs for dollies).
  • Do not modify, disassemble, or repair equipment.
  • Equipment must not be sub-rented, loaned, or transferred to any third party.

4. Return Condition

  • Equipment must be returned in the same condition it was rented, minus normal wear.
  • Cleaning fees may apply if equipment is returned excessively dirty or with debris.

Safety Guidelines

Before Use

  • Inspect the equipment before each use — check wheels, pins, straps, frames, and handles.
  • Do not use equipment that appears damaged or defective. Call us immediately.
  • Read any labels or instructions on the equipment.

During Use

  • Never exceed the rated load capacity. Overloading can cause tipping, collapse, or injury.
  • Secure all loads with straps before moving.
  • Keep the load balanced and low to the ground.
  • Push — do not pull — loaded carts and dollies.
  • Use two people for loads over 500 lbs or when moving up/down inclines.
  • Watch for overhead obstructions, wet floors, curbs, and uneven surfaces.
  • Wear closed-toe shoes and, when lifting, gloves and back protection.
  • Never ride on any equipment.
  • Keep children and pets away from equipment during use.

Ramps & Loading

  • Ensure the ramp is properly secured to the truck or container before loading.
  • Do not exceed the ramp's rated capacity (e.g., 3000 lbs for the container loading ramp).
  • Load and unload on flat, stable ground.
  • Always have a spotter when moving heavy loads up or down a ramp.

After Use

  • Remove all loads before returning equipment.
  • Wipe down if dirty — especially after outdoor use.
  • Check that all parts (pins, straps, wheels) are intact before returning.

Safety Warnings

  • Never overload equipment. Exceeding capacity voids the warranty and can cause serious injury.
  • Do not use damaged equipment. Stop using immediately and notify us.
  • Do not operate equipment under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Use proper lifting technique. Bend your knees, keep your back straight, and lift with your legs.
  • Not for use by children. Equipment is for adult use only.

  • The renter agrees to pay for repair or replacement cost of any equipment damaged beyond normal wear.
  • Lost or stolen equipment will be charged at full replacement value.
  • A cleaning fee may apply if equipment is returned in an unreasonable condition.
